Steve Carmen is the Managing Partner of BGP Advisors, an independent financial advisory and investment firm focused exclusively on founder-owned businesses. Steve has 15+ years of experience in corporate transactions and business development strategy as an advisor, investor and operator. Prior to forming BGP Advisors, Steve was a Vice President with PwC Corporate Finance, where he provided mergers & acquisitions advisory services to clients in the healthcare services sector. Prior to PwC, Steve led the corporate development efforts for two privately-held middle market companies, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and business development strategy. Steve helped drive revenue growth and profit margin expansion, which ultimately led to successful liquidity events. Prior to his corporate development experience, Steve worked in investment banking, focusing on mergers & acquisitions, private capital, and capital markets client coverage.

Steve holds an MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a BS in Business from Florida State University. Steve holds his FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses.

Andrew has 15+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategy, operations, and investing. Before joining BGP Advisors, he served as Chief Financial Officer of a private equity-backed company. Earlier, he was an Investment Partner at a family office, where he helped source, evaluate, and execute investments across a range of lower-middle-market businesses.

Andrew also worked as an independent consultant, advising Kraft Heinz and other Fortune 50 companies on strategy, analytics, and growth initiatives. Prior to that, he was a consultant with Bain & Company, where he advised corporate and private equity clients on growth strategy, M&A diligence, operating model design, and post-merger integration. He also held investing roles at Lake Capital, a middle-market private equity firm, and began his career as an investment banking analyst at J.P. Morgan.

Andrew holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BBA in Finance from the University of Michigan. He holds his FINRA Series 79 license.

Daniel Shaw is a Managing Director at BGP Advisors. Daniel has more than a decade of transaction and accounting experience. Prior to joining BGP Advisors, Daniel worked as a Director at Alvarez and Marsal, where he provided sell-side and buy-side financial due diligence for private equity clients, with specific focus on healthcare transactions. Prior to Alvarez and Marsal, Daniel worked at KPMG, where he gained a strong understanding of accounting principles with an initial focus on audit, before transitioning to advisory and transaction services.

Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University and is a licensed CPA in the State of Tennessee. Daniel holds his FINRA Series 79 license.

Dr. Keith Friedenberg is a Managing Director of Business Development at BGP Advisors. Keith has been a practicing gastroenterologist for more than three decades and brings deep clinical and operational experience to BGP Advisors. Keith founded and led Great Lakes Gastroenterology, which he successfully sold in 2022.

In addition to his experience as a physician, Keith is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Clinical Trials Network, a multi-site clinical research platform supporting more than 75 independent physician practices in the development and management of clinical research programs.

Keith holds a BA from Cornell University, a Medical Degree from UCLA, and an MBA from Indiana University. His background as a physician, practice owner, and healthcare executive provides clients with a highly practical perspective on value creation and transaction execution.

Alex Dean is a Vice President at BGP Advisors. Prior to joining BGP Advisors, Alex worked in Strategy & Operations at DaVita, one of the largest kidney care providers in the US. Prior to attending business school, Alex served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 8 years as an infantry officer and as a marine advisor. Alex has work experience in Asia, Europe, and South America.

Alex holds an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a BA in Political Science from Seton Hall University. Alex holds his FINRA Series 79 license.
